My Visit with a Baby Raccoon Today
I had such an amazing experience today. I got to hold a baby Raccoon. A girl had it while I was in a Farm Store buying plants and bird seed. She said it has been abandoned by its mother. So she obtained a permit to take care of it while it is still nursing.

Growing up in the country we had raccoons as pets. Sadly one night when my dad came home he found a bunch of our chickens in the road in front of the house. As he tried getting them back in the coop, something would toss them back out. Turns out it was two of our coons who had gotten out of their pen. Sadly he shot them not knowing they were our pet ones. But Raccoons are very gentle pets and very smart.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, I really want one! I should have given that girl my number. She said it wouldnt be able to go out in the wild again and would end up being someone's pet. Didnt sound like she was going to keep it. I loved holding it. So adorable !! Jess
